Mo-ichidoSafeguarding Policy

Safeguarding Statement

At Mo-ichido England Karate Association, we are fully committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. In line with the Care Act 2014 and national safeguarding guidance, we recognise our responsibility to protect the welfare of everyone involved in martial arts and associated activities.

We uphold the six principles of adult safeguarding: Empowerment, Prevention, Proportionality, Protection, Partnership, and Accountability. These principles shape our approach to promoting wellbeing, recognising signs of abuse or neglect, and taking action when needed. Our policies ensure that everyone, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, or background, has the right to train in a safe and supportive setting.

Concerns about safety will always be taken seriously and acted upon promptly, with respect for the individuals views and wishes. Our Safeguarding and Welfare Officer, is the first point of contact for any safeguarding queries or disclosures.

We encourage openness and transparency in our safeguarding approach and expect all coaches, staff, and volunteers to adhere to best practice, report concerns, and place the safety and wellbeing of our members at the heart of all they do.
